Gems of War is an RPG with a puzzle combat system developed by the creators of the popular Puzzle Quest franchise. In fact, as you'll notice within a couple minutes of playing, there are a lot of similarities between the popular saga and Gems of War.
Although the game system in Gems of War is very similar to the aforementioned Puzzle Quest, in this case you can also make use of a series of cards. By moving the color pieces around the board you can recharge your 'mana' bar and directly attack enemies. However, what will really help you win battles is using the cards, and you'll need 'mana' for those.
Each of the cards you'll find in the game (there are more than 100) is useful in combat. You can take some cards with you to battle in the form of allied units, while other cards simply help you do special attacks.
In terms of numbers, Gems of War has 15 different worlds, a total of 150 missions, and more than 60 unique weapons and spells. In addition, although there's a complete story mode for one player, you'll also find a PvP mode where you can play against other users.
Gems of War is a puzzle RPG with a brilliant visual style and an addictive and fun gameplay. An outstanding game that, if you're not careful, could keep you hooked for hours.
